Meta’s CEO Expands His Global Real Estate Portfolio

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, has made another significant real estate purchase, this time in Ireland. The tech mogul has acquired Strancally Castle, a stunning 19th-century estate situated on a picturesque 440-acre property, near Meta’s international headquarters in Dublin.

According to reports, the castle’s grounds feature a tranquil river setting, surrounded by lush greenery, and boast an impressive array of amenities, including at least 11 bedrooms, four tower suites, a library, a dining room, and a drawing room. The Irish Times reported as far back as 2001 that the estate is a haven for relaxation and entertainment.

The castle’s previous owner, a financier, had lived there with his family for 25 years before selling it to Zuckerberg. The tech executive and his family are reportedly excited to continue caring for this historic home and look forward to spending time in Ireland, where Meta maintains its international headquarters.

Meta’s international headquarters is located in Dublin, where the company opened a 31,000-square-foot data center in 2017, just 20 minutes from the city. Waterford, where Strancally Castle is situated, is about a two-hour drive from Dublin.

This is not Zuckerberg’s first significant real estate purchase this year. He and his wife reportedly splashed out $170 million for a home in the exclusive Miami neighborhood as Jeff Bezos, joining a slew of tech billionaires leaving California as the state seeks to implement a form of wealth tax.

With this purchase, Zuckerberg continues to expand his global real estate portfolio, demonstrating his commitment to investing in properties that offer a unique blend of history, luxury, and scenic beauty.
