Ubisoft’s Heroes of Might & Magic 3 Release on Steam Falls Flat

The recent release of Heroes of Might & Magic 3 on Steam has left fans of the classic strategy game disappointed and frustrated.

The game, which was originally released in 1999, has been re-released on Steam as part of a bundle of classic Ubisoft games.

However, upon closer inspection, it appears that the game does not actually include the game files, resulting in a ‘dummy executable’ error message when trying to launch it.

A Glaring Oversight?

It seems that Ubisoft’s team may have overlooked including the actual game files in the Steam release, leaving fans wondering how this could have happened.

The game’s Steam page shows a 23.49 KB install size, which is suspiciously small, especially considering the game’s reputation as a classic strategy title.

This is not the first time that a game has been released on Steam without the actual game files, but it’s still disappointing to see a company like Ubisoft, which has a reputation for quality games, make such a glaring oversight.

For fans of the series, the best option remains the original version of Heroes of Might & Magic 3 available on GOG, which includes the expansions Armageddon’s Blade and The Shadow of Death.

At the moment, the Steam version of the game has a user review rating of 80% negative, which is a clear indication that something has gone wrong.

We can only hope that Ubisoft will rectify this situation soon and provide fans with the actual game they have been waiting for.

Until then, the GOG version remains the best option for fans of the series, especially considering that it’s currently on sale for half-price.
