Florence Pugh to Star in Netflix’s ‘East of Eden’

The wait is finally over for fans of the classic novel ‘East of Eden.’ Netflix has released several first-look photos for its upcoming limited series, which you can view above and below. Zoe Kazan’s adaptation of John Steinbeck’s classic 1952 novel, starring and executive produced by Florence Pugh, will premiere on October 1 on the streamer.

Filmed across multiple locations in New Zealand, ‘East of Eden’ is a collaborative effort between co-studios Fifth Season and Anonymous Content. Zoe Kazan penned the screen adaptation of the novel, which was previously turned into a 1955 movie directed by her grandfather, Elia Kazan. She serves as co-showrunner alongside Jeb Stuart. The two and Pugh executive produce alongside Garth Davis, who directs episodes 1-4; Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, who directs episodes 5-7; and Antoine Douiahy, Zack Hayden, Steve Golin, David Levine, and Jill Arthur.
