Josh, a seasoned gamer, is on a mission to transform Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) into a PC version of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. His goal is to create NPCs that are indistinguishable from real-life human beings. To achieve this, he has been experimenting with mods, pushing the limits of what is possible in the game.

In this article, we’ll delve into Josh’s modding journey, exploring the two mods he has installed: NPC Check On Player and NPCs Get Wanted Stars. These mods have significantly impacted the gameplay experience, making the NPCs more polite and accountable for their actions.

The NPC Check On Player mod makes the citizens of Los Santos more polite and considerate. When a player is run over by a car, the driver will screech to a halt, get out, and walk over to check if the player is okay. This mod has added a new layer of realism to the game, making the NPCs more human-like.

However, there is a catch. The player can only respond with ‘Yes, I’m fine,’ which is not exactly what one would say to someone who has just run them over. Furthermore, the key to respond with ‘Yes, I’m fine’ is the same key used to fall asleep in Josh’s already-installed Roleplay Alone mod. This has led to some hilarious moments, as Josh finds himself constantly getting hit by cars and falling asleep in the middle of the road.
The NPCs Get Wanted Stars mod takes the game to a new level of realism by making the NPCs punishable for their crimes. When an NPC commits a crime, they earn their own wanted stars, and the police will chase them down. This mod has added a new layer of complexity to the game, making the NPCs more accountable for their actions.
However, as Josh notes, the NPCs are not exactly prone to random criminal acts. To bait them into committing crimes, one must run into them at a full sprint over and over again, until they get mad enough to throw a punch. Ideally, this should be done in front of a police station, making for a dramatic and realistic scene.
The combination of these two mods has significantly impacted the gameplay experience, making the NPCs more polite and accountable for their actions. The realism is off the charts, and Josh’s modding journey has shown us that with a little creativity and experimentation, the possibilities are endless.
