Rizz Dungeon: Skeleton Key to My Heart, an upcoming role-playing game (RPG) from developer Snoozy Kazoo, has been delayed until next year. The game, which was initially scheduled to release on September 17, 2026, has been pushed back due to the studio’s previous games, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion and Turnip Boy Robs a Bank, selling better than expected.

This unexpected success has given Snoozy Kazoo the financial resources to make Rizz Dungeon the game they had always envisioned, rather than rushing to meet a tight deadline.

In an interview, Yukon Wainczak, the founder and director of Snoozy Kazoo, explained the reasons behind the delay:

"This delay allows us to both add more content and avoid crunch. As a tiny studio of five people, there were quite a few features (and Monster Girls!) we were cutting in order to hit this September 17th release date, and we were starting to crunch to ensure this game was something we were proud of," Wainczak said.
"While we understand the delay likely comes as a disappointment, we hope that you can be reassured by the fact that we are making a better—and healthier made—Rizz Dungeon with this delay," he added.
Rizz Dungeon is an RPG that takes place in a dungeon where the player must explore to collect loot from a dragon. However, the twist is that the dragon is the player’s ex-girlfriend, and the loot is all the stuff she took. The player must use their Charisma skills to charm their way out of fights until they can recruit monster girls to handle the fighting for them.
Rizz Dungeon’s unique blend of exploration, combat, and social interaction has generated significant interest among gamers and RPG enthusiasts. The game’s delay is likely to be met with a mix of disappointment and understanding, given the studio’s commitment to making a better game.
The delay of Rizz Dungeon has significant implications for the gaming industry and the studio itself. On the one hand, it shows that the studio is committed to making a better game, even if it means delaying the release date.
On the other hand, it may also mean that the game will not be released in time for the busy gaming season, which includes several high-profile releases in September 2026, including The Blood of Dawnwalker, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Silent Hill: Townfall.
However, it is worth noting that the delay is not necessarily a bad thing. It gives the studio more time to polish the game and make it the best it can be, which is likely to result in a more positive reception from gamers and critics alike.
