The Highland Wildlife Park, nestled near Kingussie in Scotland, recently experienced a heart-stopping incident involving one of its Japanese macaque monkeys, Luka. The agile primate managed to escape from its enclosure and sparked a massive search operation in the surrounding area.

He will now be looked over by our keepers and veterinary team before being carefully reintroduced to his group.’

Zookeepers suspected that Honshu had been ousted from the zoo’s troop and were subsequently transferred to the Edinburgh Zoo for further care and observation.
