Superstar Duo Set to Take the U.S. Open by Storm

The 2026 U.S. Open is shaping up to be an exciting tournament, with a slew of high-profile teams announced for the mixed doubles draw. Among the most anticipated pairings is the union of tennis legend Serena Williams and rising star Carlos Alcaraz.

Alcaraz, currently ranked No. 2 in the world, will be ending a four-month hiatus triggered by a wrist injury when he takes the court with Williams for the mixed doubles competition. The Spanish player has been out of action since suffering a setback in his recovery from a wrist injury sustained earlier this year.

Williams, who made her highly anticipated return to the tennis circuit in June after a four-year hiatus, sustained a knee injury during her first-round loss to Australian Maya Joint at Wimbledon 2026 on June 30 in London. Despite this setback, the 23-time Grand Slam champion remains committed to her comeback and is not planning to play in the singles tournament of the final Grand Slam this season.

The mixed doubles draw for the 2026 U.S. Open will be held on Sunday in Flushing, N.Y. Qualifiers will take place on Monday, with main draw play continuing from Tuesday to Wednesday.

The mixed doubles field features several other high-profile teams, including a union of top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus and No. 5 Novak Djokovic of Serbia. No. 17 Casper Ruud of Norway and No. 5 Iga Swiatek of Poland are among the other notable entries.

Italian Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori, who beat Swiatek and Ruud in the 2025 mixed doubles finale, will look to defend their crown.

Main-draw singles play for the U.S. Open will be held from August 30 to September 13 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

The tournament organizers have announced that the singles draws for the tournament will be held on Thursday in Flushing. Top-ranked Jannik Sinner has withdrawn from the 2026 U.S. Open due to an injury.
