Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Leaving LA & Heading Back to the UK
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Return to the UK
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have made the decision to leave their home in Los Angeles and return to the United Kingdom for an extended period. This move comes after the couple’s deal with Netflix, Archewell Productions, was extended as a first-look agreement late last year.
Although they may still have a first look deal with the streaming giant, the decision to return to the UK is reportedly due to the couple’s desire to spend more time with their children and to be closer to their family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be taking their children back to the UK, where they will remain private individuals and non-working members of the royal family.
According to reports, the couple will also maintain a home in Montecito, California. This decision comes after the couple made headlines in 2020 when they stepped away from their duties as royals and moved to California.
However, despite their decision to leave LA, it appears that the couple’s partnership with Netflix is still going strong. In an interview earlier this year, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, stated that the streaming giant still has a relationship with the Sussexes and has several projects in development with them, including a polo-themed drama and an adaptation of Carley Fortune’s novel ‘Meet Me at the Lake.’
The couple’s production company, Archewell Productions, has several projects in the works, including a cooking show, ‘With Love, Meghan,’ which unfortunately did not receive a third season. The show’s ratings did decline in the second half of 2025, but the couple’s deal with Netflix remains in place.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also been working on a documentary series, ‘Cookie Queens,’ which explores the world of Girl Scout cookie sales. The film premiered at Sundance in January and received a $328k debut on 446 screens.
In an interview at the film’s premiere, Meghan Markle spoke about the value of friendship and the importance of sticking to one’s goals, as reflected in the documentary. She also mentioned her own experiences as a Girl Scout and her mom’s role as a troupe leader.
The couple’s decision to leave LA and return to the UK is a significant one, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for them. However, it is clear that their partnership with Netflix is still going strong and that they have several exciting projects in the works.
