The company, which is active in uranium development and exploration in the US and Australia, has established a presence in one of Europe’s most prospective areas for uranium resources.

The licences cover areas featuring geological formations with numerous recorded uranium occurrences and deposits, including the notable Kläppibäcken and Pleutajokk uranium deposits.

These districts have previously been explored over several decades by government bodies and various industry participants and are considered to be among the most significant uranium-bearing regions in Sweden.

The acquisition comes after recent changes to Swedish legislation, which once again allows for uranium mining activities.

Sweden’s Arjeplog-Arvidsjaur uranium province features multiple vein and metasomatic uranium occurrences, including the Pleutajokk deposit, which has historically been recognised for its concentration of uranium-bearing systems.

The Hotagen district, covered by the new licences, also contains a number of known uranium sites, including the Kläppibäcken deposit, which has been highlighted in international uranium mineral deposit compilations as one of Sweden’s key uranium prospects.

Laramide Resources’ president and CEO, Marc Henderson, said: ‘Sweden has undergone one of the most significant policy shifts in the global uranium sector.’

‘In a relatively short period, the Swedish Government has restored uranium mining, modernised the regulatory framework, and reaffirmed nuclear energy as a cornerstone of the country’s long-term energy strategy.’

‘We believe these reforms represent a transformational shift for Sweden’s mining sector and have created an attractive opportunity to establish a strategic position within an emerging European uranium supply chain.’

The company’s expansion into the European market follows recent developments in the uranium sector, including the approval of a mineral development licence for the Westmoreland uranium project in Australia.

The licence was granted to Laramide Resources’ Australian subsidiary, Tackle Resources, in July 2025.

The company’s strategic move into the European uranium market is expected to provide a significant boost to its uranium exploration and development activities.

Laramide Resources’ acquisition of the Swedish uranium exploration licences marks a significant milestone in the company’s expansion into the European market.

The company’s presence in one of Europe’s most prospective areas for uranium resources is expected to provide a significant opportunity for uranium exploration and development.
