Prime Video Commits to a $2 Billion Investment in Latin America
Prime Video’s Ambitious Latin American Expansion
Prime Video, a leading streaming platform, has announced a groundbreaking plan to invest over $2 billion in Latin America between 2027 and 2030. This substantial investment will focus on original programming, locally produced and acquired content, and live sports rights across Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile. The move marks a significant milestone in Prime Video’s efforts to tap into the region’s vibrant entertainment market.
According to the announcement, the streamer aims to double the number of local originals produced across these five countries compared to 2026. This ambitious target is expected to lead to the production of more diverse and engaging content that caters to the unique tastes and preferences of Latin American audiences. To achieve this goal, Prime Video has already unveiled a slate of 25 new titles set for 2027, including La Oficina Season 2, Florence Cassez, Tremembé Season 2, Marília, Menem Season 2, Te Odio, Te Amo, Rojo Corazón, Catedrales, and Valentina.
At a recent showcase event in Mexico City, Kelly Day, Vice President of International at Prime Video, expressed her enthusiasm for the region’s growing entertainment industry.
